Write-up: Greg Sipp
Leader: Paul Sirtoli
Co-Leader: Greg Sipp

Surprisingly, nine signed up for what would be another adventurous Sirtoli hike, billed at 11 miles.  But, as the weather projections deteriorated throughout the week, so did the numbers.  Three bailed out on account of rain and it rained.  One person attempted to persuade Darlene not to hike just because of the perception of him not showing up.  He said it makes him “look like such a wimp, staying home drinking hot cocoa with his bunny slippers on”.  You can’t argue with a guy that has the title of “Sir” in front of his name.

Surprisingly, the hike was close to the promoted 11 miles, finishing at a solid 12.  With Paul, bait and switch is always existent, but not today.  The rain didn’t stop the six of us from having a great time, evident by ending the hike with everyone agreeing that it was a great hike.  Lunch at the lean-to, hiking a trail from Chub Pond to Stone Dam that see’s very little traffic, crossing a sketchy bridge that we were told was out, and the rain made it all worth getting off the couch.

On to the next adventure … and Lisa is already on to hers.  After the hike today, she drove to Cranberry Lake to continue hiking this weekend. Nice!
