What an absolutely beautiful day for a 9-mile hike with a promise of amazing views.  But, with no current club concussion protocol in place and Paul clearing himself to hike, that hike didn’t happen.  Today’s hike to Peaked Mt. was in fact 12 miles.  There were no amazing views, since we were on the wrong mountain and a leader that had difficulties with his sense of direction.  He was viewed walking in circles, mumbling “my compass”.  It got to the point that Tom Smith, whose navigation skills are dubious to begin with, led the hike out.

The deerflies were a nuisance and several bug repellents were tried and failed miserably; apple cider vinegar, stem bug spray and a dragonfly attached to the pack, we’ll keep trying though.  Even with all that, the day was absolutely gorgeous.  We laughed and talked all day long about some many different things, what a great crew to hike with.
